Steve Prior FCIM

Managing Partner

Steve is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing with more than 25 years’ experience agency and client-side. A former Divisional Director of HAVAS, Steve has worked with clients as diverse as Microsoft, BAE Systems, Volvo and Vodafone. Steve started the original Engage agency in 2007, and in 2018 invited former colleagues, suppliers and associates to form the new partnership in response to the economic and client environment. Steve is a lifelong writer, passionate about strategy, content and engaging with audiences.

James King

Creative Director

James cut his teeth at a number of London agencies before becoming Creative Director for an integrated marketing agency within the Omnicom portfolio. His client experience includes: BAE Systems, Historic Royal Palaces, Newbury Racecourse, Colas, Scotwork and The Royal Star & Garter. James is recognised for his attractive and sophisticated design work and has created award-winning integrated campaigns, strong brands, bespoke websites and highly effective advertising.

Mei Mei Cooper

Mei Mei is an experienced digital creative and producer, who has worked with some of the world’s leading brands to create compelling and accessible audio visual content and interactive experiences for events, installations and online. Among her many clients and collaborations are projects with: Xerox, BAE Systems, Royal Navy, RAF, British Airways, JLR, RBS/NatWest, Virgin, Monsoon and Swarovski.

Mark Southgate

Head of Clients

Mark has over 25 years’ client services experience in developing creative communication, event, conference and integrated marketing programmes. With senior management roles across leading agencies, combined with an extensive knowledge of design, print, video and digital, Mark ensures all client projects are delivered effectively. Having worked in most industry sectors, with global brands including Lockheed Martin, Vodafone, Microsoft, Motorola, Raytheon and The Jockey Club, Mark also enjoys a broad commercial knowledge, to the benefit of our clients.

Lisa Berry DipDM


As effective ‘Head of Copy’, Lisa oversees every written word that leaves Engage. The former Head of Database Marketing for NatWest Bank, and Marketing Director for a Private Healthcare Company, Lisa has more than 20 years’ client-side marketing experience. Since moving to agency life, Lisa has run her own copywriting team and worked with brands as diverse as Skoda and Weight-Watchers. Lisa is a creative wordsmith, diligent copy editor and no-nonsense thinker.

Mike Blackett

Creative Partner

Mike was described by ‘Design Week’ as an ‘Unsung Hero of Design’, having worked with brands like BMW, British Airways, Legal and General, Nestlé and Capital Radio during his more than 25 years’ experience. Equally adept at branding, design, advertising and digital, Mike has served an apprenticeship with some of the pantheons of the advertising industry. Mike’s great strength is his ability to see an idea quickly from iteration to execution.

Richard Burns

Digital Partner

Richard is a seasoned chief architect who has worked across multiple complex development projects. He has created and overseen systems for clients like Microsoft and Ideal Standard, accounting for diverse cultures, languages and experience. Richard is as much at home writing code for Apps as he is creating diverse functionality websites and integrated databases.

Lucy Cheesewright

Lucy is a former Engage Account Director who then took over as Event Director of SalonQP for Telegraph Events. There, Lucy curated the UK’s leading watch and luxury show, based in London but with an international reputation for innovation, creativity and commercial success. Lucy combines a love of strategy and creativity, delivering events and activations for clients that increase revenue, build awareness and cement brand loyalty.

Nic is a leading software developer and strategist with more than 20 years’ experience across industry and agency. He has overseen and developed systems for clients as diverse as British Transport Police and Screwfix, and has worked extensively with Microsoft and Google on cutting-edge software products. Nic’s passion is data-driven solutions which use the power of data and intuitive user-interfaces to deliver great solutions for customers and users.

William Parker

William is the former Group Creative Director of McCann Erickson Worldwide with more than 30 years’ experience. A keen strategist, William has worked with many of the world’s leading brands during an illustrious agency career. Prior to his time with McCann, William ran his own agency and understands perfectly the advantages of senior expertise delivered without the associated costs. William’s greatest skill is an ability to see the wood from the trees.
