Modern Slavery Statement

Engage Marketing Limited is committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our business or supply chains.

Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. The Modern Slavery Act 2015 consolidated these offences and gives law enforcement agencies strong powers to investigate and prosecute those responsible.

At Engage Marketing, we recognise that tackling modern slavery requires awareness and vigilance from everyone involved in our organisation. We take this responsibility seriously and expect suppliers and partners to comply with all applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human trafficking, and to uphold ethical working practices

Risk Assessment

Given the nature of our business as a marketing and communications agency, we assess the overall risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chain to be low. However, we remain alert to potential risks, particularly in the following areas:

  • Third-party suppliers and subcontractors
  • Outsourced production or logistics services
  • Recruitment through external agencies
  • Corporate hospitality and event suppliers

We continue to review and strengthen our procurement processes to promote ethical and fair working practices throughout our supply chain.

Identifying Modern Slavery

Modern slavery can take many forms, and victims may not always recognise their own exploitation. Potential indicators include individuals who:

  • Are not in possession of their own passport, ID or travel documents
  • Allow others to speak for them when addressed directly
  • Appear withdrawn, anxious or fearful
  • Have limited social contact or freedom of movement
  • Cannot freely contact friends or family

These signs alone do not confirm that a person is a victim of slavery or trafficking, but they should raise concern and prompt appropriate action.

Reporting Concerns

Any employee who has concerns about potential modern slavery or trafficking must report them immediately to a Director. The Director will assess the situation, determine the appropriate next steps and provide further guidance.

If you believe someone may be in immediate danger, call 999. If not, concerns should be discussed internally before taking any external action, as uncoordinated reporting can sometimes increase the risk to potential victims.

Employees can also refer to the UK Government’s Modern Slavery Procurement Guidance for more information.

Monitoring and Review

Engage Marketing is committed to monitoring this policy and reviewing it at least annually to ensure it remains effective and up to date with legislation and best practice.

This statement has been approved by the Directors of Engage Marketing Limited and is signed on their behalf.
