Relaunching an Icon From Titanic to Tomorrow

CATEGORY: Film & Digital

The brief

Harland and Wolff are arguably the most famous names in shipbuilding. Formed in 1861, they had been through many iterations before they approached Engage to help tell the story of the company under new ownership, aiming to be a modern disruptive brand.

The work

We created a unique brand film that addressed the history of the company, before setting out its bold new vision for the future. We developed a compelling script and storyboard, and then used a mixture of assets from the company’s heritage archive, animation, and new filming to create ‘From Titanic to Tomorrow’.

The outcome

The film helped to position Harland and Wolff as a third major UK shipbuilder, helping them secure the £1.6bn Fleet Solid Support Programme. Across social media the film was met with high praise, and was used in everything from recruitment to events. Engage was commissioned to make several more films, and now works with Navantia UK (owners of the H&W brand).
